In november 2007 the new bridge Ponte Newton Navarro was finished, making the north zone of Natal a lot more “closer” to the main side of Natal. Since the construction of the bridge started the north zone has been improving and growing a lot. Several new shoppingcenters and supermarkets, like Extra, has opened and property prices has also risen. The infrastructure is improved because of the new bridge.
The two main blocs of the bridge are 110 meters high and the length is 1.8km.

In Natal where the river “Rio potengi” meets the ocean there´s a fortress named “Forte dos Reis Magos”, Fortress of three wise kings. On the 4th of october 2007 it was elected as the “Sete maravilhas do Rio Grande do Norte”
1598 the governor of Pernambuco, Manuel Mascarenhas, and his people started the building of the fortress.
